Good news! Our April shipment arrived in Burkina a couple of weeks ago. The meals will be stored in the warehouse until they can be distributed to the many church-run centers we work with across the country.
Did you know that it takes about one month for the shipment to arrive in the Port of Lomé?
Then it takes another month to clear customs. Our country staff coordinates all of the details to ensure that each meal arrives at its destination and into the hands of those that need it most.
June was a busy month for us since we also distributed 1,156 boxes of food. That’s 249,696 meals to 20 of our centers.
This is the end of the dry season in Burkina which is the leanest time for our beneficiaries. It could not be a better time for the meals to arrive to help our centers get through the next several months before they can harvest their crops during the rainy season.
